I’s still shocked and horrified that games like this are still making money. Are they ever going to make a Schindler’s List game. They already made ones on Vietnam and Desert Storm (Odd that the sequel appeared BEFORE the second gulf war, do they have soldiers die from roadside bombs or panic killings at check points yet?) and so on but this is just trashy ‘Greatest Generation’ banter that’s overstuffed uber-patriotic garbage. When is this going to stop!?
First off, most of this is too much a carbon copy of war movies like ‘Saving Pvt. Ryan’, A Bridge too far, and Enemy at the Gates.’ and its more than obvious they did no research while making this movie. Granted, it may seem trivial to have an actual historian work on a video game but it serves the point that its just propaganda trying to cash in on a country of wannabe generals.
Second, the Russian sequence is by far the worst, it plays frame for frame ‘Enemy at the Gates’ with no real variation. Besides, the Russians didn’t shoot small squads retreating from a bad charge, they just shot deserters trying to leave the area of combat, it’s highly over-exagerrated. Also note that commissars gave warning shots up in the air before training weapons on their own soldiers giving them an ultimatum. In total 10-15,000 died in such a fashion compared to the 20 million the Germans killed.
Not to say that’s the only area of crap, the British segment where two guys take out an entire German destroyer just wretched. When the hell did that ever happen? Oh, and then they whisk away in a plane smack in german territory with no resistence?
In conclusion its no better than any of those lame contra games where one man takes out an entire army but worse it profits from the sacrifice of veterans, pfeh.

As I continue to try and load this crummy software on a brand new Dell series 2400, I am continually amazed by the ignorance and the arrogance of the people who write and design today’s computer software. They remind me of the people I work with: always trying to show that somehow they are smarter than all the rest of us. In 20 years of PC use of all types and brands both hardware and software this is the first time that I have not been able to get a lousy PC game loaded and able to use. Activison’s Call of Duty should fire the A** H**** who worked on this project. When you load a piece of software today, most of the job can be done by just following the instructions. Well I have followed the instructions and I have been asked to put CD #1 in then CD #2 in and finish the installation. Then it says you have the wrong CD in the drive, then the other is placed in and guess what, that is the wrong one and around and around we go! I suppose there is something embedded so that people cannot copy their precious software and spread it all over town, Well brother, you couldn’t give this one away!

This game requires a video card that is not in the Windows ME computer. This game can not evn be played on our computer. I think this is ridiculous! If I would have known this I would have never purchased it.

The gaming industuty is getting to big for it self.

Call of Duty is a great game for the masses, I mean just look at all the people up in here raveing about how this is the best gaming experice they ever had. Get a grip, Game of the year come on have a little restrent.

I love these kids yelling about the game play, its the same damn game as Madel of honer, and not to say that a bad thing but 4 year.

the games based on the Quake 3 engine which is nice becuse it runs like a dream, but this is 2004 fokes and my readoon 9700 pro is derect X9 compadible, so the game aint realy pushing any graphicly bonderys.

It is an EXACT copy of Medal of Honor Allied Assault and the expansion packs that followed. Don’t waste your money.
They didn’t even try to make it orginial. It is just the same old, scripted mission action repackaged.

I enjoyed the game. I liked it…but I did not think it was worth my money.

There are some new things that are nice…but that list is so short, it is still not worth $40 or $50!!!

    DON”T BELIEVE THE HYPE>>>>>>>>

Download the demo or borrow a copy from a friend and TEST DRIVE it first people.

If you like it…then buy it but don’t rush out because of the overhyped 5 star votes in here!!!
